4-8th July 2016 Farming Safety Week #FarmSafetyWeek

Farming accounts for just 1.5% of the UK's workforce, however shockingly farmers account for around 20% of all workplace fatalities. As a result, it is the UK's most dangerous profession by far.

The fourth annual Farm Safety Week will take place from 4-8 July 2016 and, once again, will be supported by a range of farming organisations, including the Farm Safety Foundation and the Health & Safety Executive.

In support of Farm Safety Week, Good to Go Safety will be running 10% off all Tractor Safety Products between the 4th and 8th July 2016.

Last year’s HSE Health & Safety in Agriculture report showed that there were 33 fatal injuries to workers in agriculture in 2014/2015, the same as the five year average. Despite more awareness around farm safety, farmers of all ages are still taking risks when working and this has to stop.

Our Good to Go Safety Tractor checklist helps ensure that a machine is well maintained and regularly checked, proving invaluable in the event of an HSE inspection following an accident. The checks may also help reduce the risk of an accident occurring in the first place, as possible defects may be highlighted and repairs carried out before they deteriorate further.
